Safety for them means staying in the house, away from the eyes of the world.
Fortunately for everyone’s state of mind, the house is isolated, albeit surrounded by a disturbing and intimidating forest – a forest that Derry swore never to re-enter.
When the siblings begin to go missing one by one, Derry is forced to take action, even if it means breaking her oath and going back into the forest.
I love reading these kinds of books, and I’ve shared a few other book guides (lots of romance, lol) I’ve written below:

Outside of all this, however, he is a Haldim, not a Cadeleonian, and therefore it is a great honor that he has been allowed to attend the famous Caledonian Academy. The vampire is not what he expects. Otherwise, Tal might have to reveal his hidden magical abilities …
In Deeper Waters has everything you could want from the best gay fantasy novels.
Then an earthquake released a magical plague, killing thousands and opening the door for a greedy corporation to make maz a commodity that’s tightly controlled—and, of course, outrageously expensive. I mean, just sorting through the best gay fantasy books is almost impossible.
Another contributing factor to the prominence of queer fantasy fiction is the pick up of Young Adult writing and the typical genres that come with it.
Magic, grand escapes to distant worlds, and having the power to change seemingly impossible situations are all skills that most queer wish they had or things they wish would happen to them, which is more than understandable.
The genre of Fantasy isn’t limited just to wands, great otherworldly battles, or elves and dwarves, however.
The differences between The Lord of the Rings and Gothic-style fantasy works like the morally questionable Lovecraft’s Call of Cthulhu. If you like urban fantasy books by Iona Andrews and Seanan McGuire, this will probably be up your alley.
I also love how the author plays with different vampire romance tropes, but shows very different characters.
While it reads very well, The Deep also makes for one of the better LGBT fantasy audiobooks.
Now, rival families intent on protecting their own at all costs fight to keep territory and maintain a semblance of balance in this precarious society.
However, the emergence of a new drug has enabled more people to use jade magic – even foreigners.
Love it.

#10: Gay Fantasy Romance Novels: Locke & Key by Megan Derr
This next gay fantasy romance novel is ALSO a short read by Megan Derr – in fact, there are THREE gay vampire romance short stories in this here anthology.
In my mind, I picture Megan Derr just skipping around and quickly building worlds, she’s THAT good at it.
Noah has a long way to go, but he’s ready for the ride.

Hero by Perry Moore
Taking a sharp swing from the rest of the books on this list into the colorful land of more Superhero-influenced fiction, the aptly named Hero is nonetheless a queer fantasy work well worthy of praise that brings more than its fair share of unique twists and well-formulated characters to the table.
The book’s plot revolves around a boy named Thom Creed.
JUST SAYING!
But when he turns up later on dry land and very much alive, Tal has questions.
These objects are from all over the world, from places the members of the Gleaming are prevented from knowing about.
Anima is conflicted by this man and his trinkets; as ær perceptions begin to take in more than just Ora, æ can’t help but begin to also question everything æ know.
This is an intriguing LGBT fantasy book that explores themes of borders, control, and transformation.

In my listicle below, I’ve been sure to note what mm romances are on Amazon, specifically, Kindle Unlimited!
Ok, without further ado – let’s get into discussing gay fantasy romances!
Quick Note on “Fantasy”
“Fantasy” can mean different things to different people.
Although, it’s really just one voice: the voice of her deceased and estranged grandmother, Ah Ma.
The voice of Ah Ma informs Jess that, while alive, she used to be the vessel for a deity called the Black Water Sister. Snow White forest creatures are an added bonus.

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree
Queer fantasy books meet foodie fiction in one of the best underdogs of 2022.
Thanks to social media, the originally indie-published title, Legends & Lattes, became an overnight success – and you know how we feel about hyped books over here…
However, this title is absolutely devour-worthy in its romance, friendships, and ambiance.
And what if that human was very good at solving problems using modern common sense, instead of getting all tripped up on the rich history and cultural demands of supernatural creatures?
*Bats eyelashes*
I would tell you more, but I can’t figure out how to be vague enough to be interesting, yet not give anything away.
